Sunergist®, a phytohormone, serves as potent plant growth stimulator for enhancing the consistency of fruit ripening and quality. Moreover, it balances growth and immunity, promoting uniform growth throughout all stages, from sprouting to anthesis and fruit setting, especially in challenging weather conditions.

Sunergist® stands as the key to achieving an even harvest. It assists cherry farmers in conducting a single, efficient harvest for their entire cherry orchard, resulting in 85-90% of the fruits meeting export-grade standards, and advances harvest 5-7 days earlier.

In the face of global warming challenges, enabling table grape growers to achieve a two-pick harvest is no small feat. Sunergist® plays a vital role in enhancing the veraison process and ensuring uniform development, from flower bud formation to cell elongation and division during the sizing stage.

High temperatures during the anthesis stage can significantly impact pollination, particularly in rice crops, potentially resulting in a 20-30% reduction in overall yield due to blank grains. However, when Sunergist® is applied either before or during this stressful period, it can boost pollination and mitigate losses during harvest, rescuing 14-25% of the yield that would otherwise.

The active ingredient of Sunergist® is based on the discovery of USDA in 1970-1980, called 24-Epibrassinolide, a phytohormone synthesized by plant itself and works inside of plants as elicitor as well as plant growth regulators.

Sunergist® on Crops

EPA and California DPR allow Sunergist use for all food crops with exemption for tolerance requirements. It is also registered in Europe and China with botanical origin and “low-risk” status, thus worry-free for exporting to those regions.

The conclusions of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) following the peer review of the initial risk assessments carried out by the competent authority of the rapporteur Member State, Austria, for the pesticide active substance 24-Epibrassinolide and the considerations as regards the inclusion of the substance in Annex IV of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 are reported. The context of the peer review was that required by Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The conclusions were reached on the basis of the evaluation of the representative uses of 24-Epibrassinolide as an elicitor on grapes, leafy vegetables, sugar beet and as plant activator on grapes and cucurbits. The reliable endpoints, appropriate for use in regulatory risk assessment are presented. Missing information identified as being required by the regulatory framework is listed. No concerns are identified.

24-Epibrassinolide; Exemption From the Requirement of a Tolerance

AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

ACTION: Final Rule

SUMMARY: This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of 24-Epibrassinolide in or on all food commodities when used in accordance with label directions and good agricultural practices. Suntton International Inc., submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of 24-Epibrassinolide under FFDCA.
